RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
I have been voting daily since the link was first posted and I have forwarded to others to vote for their favorite and hoping they have chosen Old Fella. If you are voting more than once then please don't do that. As per the rules I have posted in blue below voting once per day is all that is allowed. The following was copied and pasted from the official website and can be found at this link. I would hate to see Old Fella get kicked to the bottom because the computer found too many votes from one computer per day.
If there is anything wrong with posting this then please have it deleted. In the meantime I am going to keep voting daily to try to get Old Fella up to the top.. Thanks, Fulltimegrams

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
My heart is breaking one more time, I sometimes wonder how many times a heart can break and keep on loving and giving. You have one of those hearts Richard, the kind that keeps on giving inspite of the pain it keeps going through. Take care and give all the fur babies hugs from all of us fur baby lovers.
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
Sad news about Darlin. May she romp and play at the Rainbow Bridge with Fella and Levi and all our beloved pets. I know my Buddy just made a great new friend.
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
I came across this today and just wondered if it had been posted here or not. If it has please enjoy it again because I believe it helps us to understand our pets from their point of view.
Ten commandments for pets
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years or more. Any seperation from you will be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Don't break my spirit with your temper, though I will always forgive you. Your patience will teach me more effectively.
3. Please have me spayed or nuetered.
4. Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for our kindness than mine. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up for punishment. After all, you have your job, friends, your entertainment, I only have you.
5. Speak to me often. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. Your voice is the sweetest sound I ever hear, as you must know by my enthusiasm whenever I hear your footsetps.
6. Take me in when it's cold and wet, I'm a domestic animal and am no longer accustomed to the bitter elements. I ask for little more than your gentle hands petting me. Keep my bowl filled with water. Feed me good food so that I may stay well to romp and play. By your side, I stand ready, willing and able to share my life with you, for that is what I live for. I'll never forget how well you have treated me.
7. Don't hit me. Remember, I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, Iv'e been out in the sun too long, my ear might hurt, or my heart might be getting weak.
9. Take care of me when I get old. For you too will grow old.
10. When I am old, or when I no longer enjoy good health, please do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having fun. Just see to it that my trusting life is taken gently, and be with me when it is time to say goodbye. Never say "I just can't bear to watch it." Everything is easier for me when you are there. I will leave this earth knowing with my last breath that my fate was always safest in your hands. I love you.
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
I am here too! I have had a busy day and the final thing to do was have Sandy's nails trimmed. I like it when they use the dremel on her nails, they can get real close with them. Sandy's nails grow like weeds in a garden, lol. I am always reading even if I am not posting as I am sure there are many like me. How could we not be following the story? Mr. Daniels, you are a great story teller and I am sure we will continue following any story you write about.
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
Goodnight Charlie, may you have sweet dreams about your new home and all the friends you have made. Old Fella would have loved you.

Just a Dog
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend", "just a sunrise" or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog", but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog", but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog", just smile, because they "just don't understand."
Beautiful and worthy of a poster on the walls of all the rescue organizations around the world. Imagine it in all languages of the world. Thanks for the "dog food for thought"

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
Old Fella has been cremated and his ashes will be placed on the property that the shelter is to be built on. I would like to have a memorial service for him sometime in the next two weeks. I hope to have a monument or head bust type statue placed on the property with his ashes buried at the base.
If anyone would like to participate in this just PM me.
Wow, I would love to participate in this, I would like to send you some money to help out in this endeavor as well as his hospital bill. I feel as though Old Fella was mine as well as many others. You have a great idea Richard and I will PM you for an address to mail you.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
Although my last post was directed to Richard and Sue, I wanted to address all the Old Fella supporters out there.
I have always had strays for pets, I had my first when I was only 4 years old and my mother brought us home a little kitten that was so weak we didn't think she would make it. We named her Inky because she was as black as a bottle of ink. We nursed her with little bottles from the local feed store. She soldiered on and became the strongest cat on the block. I know alot of it had to do with the love we gave her and the encouragement to live.
I pledge to continue my rescues of stray animals and those from puppy mills. I have never outright pledged anything like that but just wanted to say it out loud (kind of) so others could hear it.
I am deeply sorry for everyone's loss of Old Fella. May you be comforted in the knowledge he is happy, safe and warm at the Rainbow Bridge.
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
The story of Old Fella will never die, this is the legacy you have made sure will live on. As we love our own pets from numerous places like Shelters and off the streets of this unforgiving world we will remember Old Fella because he represents everything about Strays. Those forgotten and unloved only to be rescued and given more love than they could have ever hoped for.
Old Fella loved everything about you Richard and Sue. He was thankful you never gave up on him when you first went to bring him home and all the subsequent trips after. Remember that each time he looked into your eyes he saw the love you had for him and he gave it back even more than you ever thought any animal could. This was his Loyalty to his new world master and his world was sure looking a whole lot brighter. He had Levi for a friend from day one and you for caring, loving, human friends, something he had not been blessed with in a very long time.
Remember all the good times with Old Fella and all the good he has brought to the plight of strays around the world. There will once more be an Old Fella rally and that is when you cross over that bridge to meet him once again. Then he will be whole and pain free, able to run and frolick all he wants with Levi and you and his other fur friends. He is smiling down upon you now.
Richard and Sue, I am so sorry for you loss.

:(
I, as well as others, will always remember the love you have given to Old Fella and the love he has given back to many human friends and the four legged ones he has met along the way to a better life. I can see him waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for everyone who has been blessed by his plight and Old Fella forever inviting all the four legged doggies and cats into his new world of painless play to come. I will continue to pray for all of you and the others on here having pet health problems. It is through Forums like this that we can see the brighter side of things when it is so tough at times.
God Bless you all, Fulltimegrams22
RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
This is such sad news on Old Fella. Richard, when you say OF has a Tumor on his shoulder what do you mean by that exactly? Is it on the top of his shoulder or in the armpit portion of his shoulder???
I am saying my prayers for OF and for you and Sue to get through this thing with flying colors.

RE: RV Title Transfers in Arizona???
We are new at this AZ RV title thing and need some guidance on the procedure. We have bought a new 2008 Park Model from the lot of an Arizona dealer, no trade in, cash deal. He has our check issued on Saturday, for the full amount of purchase, there is no Realtor, Escrow or legal authority involved like a house deal. The dealer says he is bonded. The dealer completed a title registration form for us with the understanding he will register it with motor vehicles and the unit is to be delivered to our lot on Wednesday of next week. I thought that we should be the ones to register the vehicle as opposed to the dealer? Also, how does one verify the dealer is bonded in a manner that protects our interests on this kind of a purchase?
I am not sure I can answer all of your questions but I have a question for your question. Did you get paperwork regarding your purchase and with a delivery date clearly written down? Most dealers will do the registration themselves to make sure it is registered and no longer in their name. If you recieved your paperwork with the identifying information of the trailer and the delivery date and address of the delivery then there should be no problem with your purchase.

The paper work (purchase agreement) has only their lot stock number on it, the full VIN is not mentioned. The VIN is on the frame of the unit and I printed it on the "FOR" field on the face of the final payment cheque and I have verified it from the frame. The only date is the date the initial deposit was made, no mention of a specific delivery date, delivery date was agreed verbally.
Okay, the next question would be did you get a copy of the paperwork the dealer is using to register the trailer? This paperwork should have all information on it including owner's name, address, trailer identification number, etc. If not, I would be hightailing it right back there and get a copy of the paperwork and also get it written in stone on the delivery date with address just to protect yourself.

Hmmm... Are we sure Dixie Flyer doesn't have a sideline business?
I didn't mean that to be a serious question. However, I do wonder if Richard knows the company and its people?
LOL, I knew that but forgot to add my smiley faces to my reply....

Interesting bit of trivia -- that licking puppy scene is attached to a web site for a publisher who offers an illustrated Bible. It's called the Global Bible for Children. Here is the address of the publisher: Authentic Publishing 129 Mobilization Drive Waynesboro, GA 30830.
Hmmm... Are we sure Dixie Flyer doesn't have a sideline business?
Dixie Flyer didn't post it and I am sure we would have heard something about that.....

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}
While it may be funny, it is not funny when it is your dog. My son's lab does this. He also licks the paint off the bathroom doors when my son goes in. Jackson has separation anxiety. It drives my DIL nuts. Always having to wash the back door windows.
Hoops, I apologize if this video offends you but in my opinion it looks like this dog is licking the condensation off a window which is what my animals do from time to time which is not an anxiety issue at all. Perhaps the dogs owner would not have made it available if it were a problem in their home too?
Just my observation and I do understand an animals pension to do strange things. Our dog Sandy likes to flip rocks and makes the strangest sound when she does it. We don't allow her to do that very often because it is definitely a problem she has. When she spots a rock she will be at it sooner than we can take the rock away.
